Description: Performed by Dr. Lexie Wang. This is immediately after a primary open rhinoplasty with rib cartilage. Why did we have to get rib for a primary rhinoplasty? This Asian patient wanted to build up her nose, and unfortunately, Asian noses tend to have small weaker cartilage so Dr. Wang harvested rib cartilage from the patient. Rib cartilage is often preferred over other types of cartilage, such as nasal or ear cartilage because it is stronger and can provide more structural support.
