Our Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Lexie Wang, recently returned from a mission trip in Ecuador with the Global Smile Foundation (GSF). She repaired cleft palates and performed specialized cleft rhinoplasties and facial nerve procedures. During her two weeks, they provided life-changing surgeries to 56 patients with a cleft, along with nutrition, psychology, speech therapy, and dental care.
GSF supports a Comprehensive Cleft Center at Hospital León Becerra to provide a full range of integrated and interdisciplinary cleft care throughout the year, at no cost to all patients and their families. They provide comprehensive cleft care for patients in underserved areas while advancing the level of cleft care provided globally.
Dr. Wang was also joined by her fellowship mentors Dr. Babak Azizzadeh and Dr. Grace Peng!
